Facilities management is the integration of processes and peoples within the built environment top operate maintain and develop the agreed services which support and improve the effectiveness of its primary activities.

Definition
Facility management is the management of buildings, estates or other commercial and residential complexes, which encompasses both building fabric and services. The services are divided into Hard Services & Soft Services. Hard services ensure that power HVAC, Plumbing, BMS and other such services are operating efficiently, reliably, safely & legally. Soft services includes cleaning, housekeeping of the building properly and regularly and maintaining a general hygiene.

The term facility management is similar to property management but often applied only to larger and/or commercial properties where the management and operation is more complex.
